If you are looking for a job, the VCC will now automatically match your professional experience to jobs from participating employers. If you have added your professional experience, military and/or civilian, to your e-portfolio, aka, My Story, then when you login to your account, you will see the number of matching jobs. Clicking on that number will take you to the jobs page where you can get to those matching jobs.
Did you know that employers are more likely to take a closer look at candidates who have volunteer experience? You can now add Volunteer Experience to your e-portfolio and then to any resume you create in VCC.
VCC now has a News section that will be used to offer employment and jobs related news in the Hampton Roads area. Please check back often to stay informed.
How It Works
BUILD YOUR PORTFOLIO
Easily and quickly create your portfolio of military experience, training and prior education. Import your Joing Services Transcript or Community College of the Air Force Web Progress Report into the portal. Then, add to your portfolio with additional education, certifications, volunteer experience or other achievements.
CREATE RESUMES Use your portfolio to create one or more resumes tuned to different industries or employers.
FIND & APPLY FOR JOBS Search for and apply to jobs, from partifipating employers, that are tuned to your military background or prior civilian experience. The Veterans Career Compass will automatically match jobs to your military or civilian experience.
DEVELOP YOUR CAREER Explore careers matched to your background or your interests. If you need credentials or additional education to build your career, visit the Virginia Community College System's Credits2Careers to get and use college credits for your experience and education and advance your career.

Setup Your Account, Post Jobs*, Search for Talent, Hire
All organizations in the Hampton Roads/Tidewater area with a valid Federal Employer Identification Number are eligible to participate. They do not have to be headquartered here, just have a local presence.
SET UP AN EMPLOYER ACCOUNT
1. Click on Login/Create an Account and the Request an Employer Account. 2. Once the request is approved, the Requestor will receive an approval email with instructions to complete the account setup*. * The Requestor wil be the default account administrator. (You can change this later)
CREATE YOUR COMPANY PROFILE The account administrator can: Create and maintain the company profile that is visible to job seekers, and add company users who can manage jobs, search for candidates, etc.
POST JOBS Company users can post and manage jobs in the portal via forms or by uploading files containing job details*. The Veterans Career Compass analyzes job details and matches those jobs to the military or civilian experience of job seekers. Making it easier to match the perfect candidate to your jobs. * Using pre-determined structured templates.
SEARCH FOR CANDIDATES Search for candidates using their personalized experience, occupations, and skillsets*. * Imported directly from the Joint Services Transcript (JST) or Community College of the Air Force Web Progress Report (CCAF).
